Hi everybody, I think this will be my last post on this blog, because I really don't have time to keep it updated with new info or "datos freak". Well, all I can say is that this was a great experience, because this blog was a very useful tool to improve a bit my poor English skills, in other hand, this blog lend me the opportunity of show to the others a bit more about the way I am, using this blog I shared some of my interests with my class mates (from this course), and some of my friends and my girlfriend. Also reading the blogs of my class mates, I learned a lot of things about they, about the things that they like (manga, music, arts), or their impressions about their futures as professionals of the health area, and some of their dreams. The use of this blog was a really nice way to learn, because the people who knows more about the language (Guillermo, and Alex R.) helped the others like me that aren't good enough, by posting on the commentaries how to improve the grammar of the topic.
I learned a lot of things by writing on the blog, for example the use of “I” instead of “i”, or about other issues related with the use of some verbs and expressions. One of the things that I liked most about this experience, was the “free topic” and the topic about the “ideal job”, because I think these topics lend us show things related with our “private” lives, I mean not related with the university.
Well, that’s all folks… thanks for reading this blog! God Luck! Fight for your dreams and… “may the Force be with us"

Ideal Job
Wow!... another cool topic, well I really don't have in mind any ideal job, because I think that I'm too lazy for work, I mean work is for losers. Well, if I were forced to work, my ideal job would be something like "vacation tester", that would be great. My work would be to be in permanent vacations, and check if the vacations are really relaxing. But the true, as I said before is that i really don't want to work, because I hate to follow rules that aren't very important like wear uniform or things like that because that hidden the individuality of the people, making they seem like simple machines, that can be replaced easily. Maybe another cool work for me would be "painter", because I really like to draw, and in that work there aren't rules, only imagination... i want to be a great painter like Gustav Klimt or maybe Vasili Kandinsky, who was the creator of my favourite picture called "Composition IV", because in this picture the colours seems to be musical notes.

Freedom is possible with MUGEN

Wow! I never thought that this could happen...! A free topic! Yeahh!.. well, that was my impression when I saw "Free post" message in the blog of the course. Today I will talk about one of my favorite things in this world: MUGEN.
What is MUGEN? Is a cool freeware, very useful to make your own fighting games in 2D, with whatever you want, you can use your favorite characters from every 2D fighting game, or if you want, you can create your own characters, stages or backgrounds, life bars and screen packs. But that is not all… there are a lot of communities and databases dedicated to the MUGEN universe through the internet. One of the most important MUGEN communities is MUGENCHINA, the homepage of the best project done in MUGEN, called “The King Of Fighters Zillion” also known as “KOFZ”. KOFZ is a dream match that include more than 80 different characters from different games of the company SNK, such as “The King Of Fighters”, “SNK vs. CAPCOM Chaos” and “Neo-Geo Battle Coliseum”, plus some original characters very professionally done… even with voice actors. I’m member of the MUGENCHINA community since I was 15 years old, and it is a great virtual place to meet very cool people and share MUGEN creations with other creators from different countries. In order to finish, i will show some pictures of my own mugen project, based on "The King Of Fighters" series called "KOF2K3 CODEBLOOD" a remake of the KOF2K3 a.k.a. KOF 2003.

How to improve our reproductive health?
Reproduction, eat and sleep, are the three more important things for the most of the living things in our planet, but eat and sleep are more boring, so today i'll talk about the reproduction, but focused in the health field: i'm talking about the reproductive health, also known as sexual health or hygiene.
1)What is this "thing" called "reproductive health"?
The reproductive health is the "state of complete physical, mental and social well-being" but relationed with the reproductive processes.
2)What do people need to achieve reproductive health?
Like any topic that involves the human behavior, the reproduction must be analized at least in 2 different ways: from the individual and communitary views.
In first place is very important that everyone have access Information about the reproductive processes, this is very useful to make informed and free decisions about our sexuality. But just like every thing, the Information is useless if we don't have the wish of find that information. A great resource of information is our own family... so its very important speak about sex and its implications in family(inform children about this issue). But have all families acces to the information? Are all they prepared to do it? Here the communities play an important rol. For example by the modification of public policies: the sexual education in schools and health centers can be increased, and the acces to contraceptive drugs or techniques can be improved. Here the health professionals also play one of their main rolls:educate the population.

My Favourite Subject
Hi, today I will tell us about my favourite subject: Genetics. I really like this subject because I think it is very interesting, because today everything is related with genetics in a least one way. I'm interested on genetics since I was 11 years old, because a TV show called "Digimon", where some of the characters have something called "DNA Digievolution" in wich two characters become one, I think that was really amazing, and now it have sense for me, because every living thing in the Earth shares the same code, in other words we all are made of the same thing called DNA. Today there are a lot of new knowledge about the DNA and its composition and how it changes when interacts with the environment, producing mutations. Another thing interesting about the DNA is that it seems to be older than our planet, because some of the main componentd of the DNA (for example some purins) where identified in a meteorite older than our planet found in the 1960s. That suggest that live could come from another part of the universe.

My Future Profession
Well, I really don't know why I started to study medicine, but I'm sure that I really like it. I expect a lot of things from my future work, because I know it involves a kind of "power". And as Spiderman's uncle said: "With a great power comes a great responsibility". I totally agree with that, because doctors work to protect the most important thing in the world: life. When I finish my degree I think I'll start to work immediately, because I don't like to study, and also because I think it is necessary get experience before I specialize. I really love this degree and of course I recommend it to my young friends, particularly to my little sister. Why? Because there are a lot of different work areas that are very interesting, such as endocrinology, neurology and cardiology.
I personally prefer the traumatology as specialty. I think it’s a very cool branch of medicine, because using the knowledge derived from this discipline is possible that people injured in accidents can return to walk.
That is all for today, see you next class!

I found this page about four years ago, while i was searching information for a biology homework and this site was very useful. I visit "MedlinePlus" at least six times per month, and it is my favourite medicine-related website because of its amazing illustrations and the precision of its disease's descriptions. It is a really cool page, with good information and a nice design, so of course i recommend it to you. Here is the link: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/spanish/encyclopedia.html Hope you like it!

The Best Surgeon In The World...
There's only one person related to medicine that i really admire, his name is Leonid Ivanovich Rogozov, a surgeon that was born in Siberia on March 14, 1934.
During an Antarctic expedition, when he was 27 years old, he developed an acute appendicitis, but he was the only doctor on the expedition, so he had to remove his own appendix. It was an extreme situation, a matter of death or life. I think this situation turns Leonid into an example for every surgeon, because he had to perform an appendectomy on himself! In fact, his surgery is one of the most famous case of self-surgery in the world.
I really admire him because of his determination. It is very useful during the medical practice. In the future, as a doctor, i will face a lot of difficult situations, maybe not so extreme as the previous one, but difficult anyway, and i have to be able to overcam them as Leonid Rogozov did it before.

Earthquake Experience Extended Version
As i said before on my intruduction, i'm from Cauquenes city a place that was very damaged by the earthquake. It was on February 27, i was arriving to my house at arround 3:30 AM and everything started to shake, it was like the "Tagadá" from Fantasilandia. My mother and my little sister were really scared, because a big TV crashed on the floor. My father was very worried about my grandmother, who was living alone in other house in the same city. The seismic movement was really strong, and it last arroud two or three minutes. I was really worried about my friends form Pelluhue and Chanco, luckyly i got news of them very quickly. When the seismisc movement ends, my father went for my grandmother. My mother, my little sister and i, were waiting on the backyard. It was a really bad experience.

Introduction/Earthquake
Hello! my name is Roberto Arellano, i'm 19 years old and i'm from Cauquenes city a place that was very damaged by the earthquake that struck Chile on February 27. It was a very difficult situation, because a lot of people lost all their properties, but they never lost the hope, so i'm very proud of them. After that i've came to live here, in Santiago city and now i'm studying medicine in second grade. I'm very happy now, because i think i will learn a lot of english in this course, ahh... i think that's all for today, see you on the next class.
